Zamil Industrial Sponsors "The Role of National Human Resources in Technology Transfer" Forum


Zamil Industrial was the Platinum Sponsor for "The Role of National Human Resources in Technology Transfer Forum" that was held at the Asharqia Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Eastern Province on Monday, 19 April 2010 under the patronage of HRH Prince Mohammad bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Eastern Province.

The forum, organized by the Asharqia Chamber in cooperation with Saudi Aramco, had a number of local experts and specialists in human resources matters to discuss the human resources relationship to technology, and included four actual sessions on developing national human resources.


Zamil Industrial Sponsors ARWADEX 2009 in Riyadh


Zamil Industrial was a Platinum Sponsor for the Water Desalination Conference in Arab Countries (ARWADEX 2009) that was held at King Faisal Conference Hall, Intercontinental Hotel in Riyadh from 12-15 April 2009 under the patronage of The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The conference aimed to: Exchange expertise among the concerned Arab countries in the domain of the desalination industry and the environment through a display of experiences in the development of water desalination, so as to develop and enhance the Desalination Technology; Promote research cooperation and technological development among the research bodies at the Arab and international levels; Encourage the private sector to invest in water desalination projects through displaying investment opportunities in terms of construction, operations and maintenance; Contribute in transferring and establishing the technology in the Arab region by motivating the specialized companies of water desalination towards building their own plants in their region; Identify the problems and provide proper solutions related to the desalination industry in the Arab region; Upgrade the standards of the workers in the domain of water desalination through training and qualification; and determine the feasibility of using alternative energies in the desalination domain.


Zamil Industrial Sponsors Local Content Forum 2009


Zamil Industrial was a Gold Sponsor for the "2009 Local Content Forum: Opportunities and Challenges" held at Asharqia Chamber in Dammam on 23 March 2009. Conducted by Asharqia Chamber, the event noted the solid status of investment in Saudi Arabian industry despite worldwide economic uncertainty, and focused on building an effective and visionary framework aimed at increasing levels of investment and attracting the desired levels of local participation.

As many as 17 delegates from a number of governmental agencies and strategic economic sectors and the private sector spoke at the Forum.

Zamil Industrial 'Open Tennis Tournament'


Zamil Industrial sponsored 'The Kingdom's Open Tennis Championship' that was held on the courts of the Olympic Village in Riyadh from 2 to 25 May 2008. Citizens and residents of all ages and professional qualifications competed during this event.

Fahad Al Saad, the Kingdom's top seed player and third in the GCC, won the professional group championship. Zaki Abdullah achieved first place in the youth division, while Walid Al Sayyah won first place in the junior category. Mike Tony, America, and Ali Mandeva, Pakistan, clinched first place in junior competition Groups A and B, respectively.

Ajlan Al Ajlan, General Manager of Central Region, presented the trophies and cash rewards to the winners, and expressed his gratitude to the tournament organizers along with his pleasure at witnessing the intensely competitive spirit of the players.

This sponsorship stresses Zamil Industrial's goals of social engagement as demonstrated by the company's support of various sporting, educational and social events throughout the Kingdom.


Zamil Industrial Sponsors Corporate Governance Conference


Zamil Industrial sponsored the “Corporate Governance Conference,” organized by the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA). The event was held on Monday, 18 February 2008 at the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Dammam, where attendees gave a hearty welcome to Keynote Speakers Dr. Abdullah Bin Hasan Al-Abdul-Gader, a member of the Board of Directors of the Capital Market Authority, and Mr. Abdul Aziz K. Al-Hashimi, General Auditor at Saudi Aramco Company.

Some of the goals accomplished by the conference were to define and clarify the concept of Corporate Governance and its practical applications. Its function as the structure of rules and procedures that provide the framework for the ethical conduct of business was explored in detail, with emphasis on the core values of transparency, accountability, responsibility and fairness.

The conference aimed to develop a strong legal sense among seniors and managers at all companies of all economic sectors and educate them on its important role in company development and review the roles and responsibilities of the board of directors of public-listed companies in protecting their firms.

It also emphasized on evaluating procedures for the monitoring and management of companies, suggest best-practice principles of protecting investors and shareholders’ rights, and reiterate the importance of disclosure and transparency when establishing corporate governance framework.

The Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants presented an award to Zamil Industrial, honoring the company’s sponsorship of the event. Said Al Daajani, Director, Corporate Communications and Investor Relations of Zamil Industrial accepted the award.

 

Zamil Industrial Supports and Participates in Al Ain Dialogue


Zamil Industrial supported and participated in the Al Ain Dialogue, which took place in the United Arab Emirates from 11-13 December 2006. Organized by the Gulf Society for Organizational Learning (Gulf SoL) and driven by Saudi Aramco, the event discussed and explored ways to create and implement measures to achieve meaningful sustainable development. This is increasingly being seen by many as key to continuing economic diversification efforts and to tackling economic and social challenges in the region.

The event was attended by leading figures from across the region, including corporate CEOs, local business owners, academics, and other thought leaders.

 

Zamil Industrial Supports the "Young Businessmen Forum"


Zamil Industrial co-sponsored the “Young Businessmen Forum” and associated exhibition, held in April 2006 in the Saudi capital under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz the Prince of Riyadh.

The forum, organized by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce & Industry, addressed several issues facing young businessmen.

Zamil Industrial was also presented with an award from HRH Prince Salman at a ceremony honoring event sponsors. The award was received by Dr. Abdulrahman A. Al Zamil, Chairman of Zamil Industrial.

Zamil Industrial sponsored the Girls' Interior Design Exhibition from the Faculty of Architecture and Planning, King Faisal University at Al Rashed Mall, in Al Khobar. Zamil Industrial, as a responsible corporate citizen committed to the development of our society, was proud to participate in such an event giving exhibitors the opportunity to display interior design concepts.

An official delegation led by Dr. Abdulaziz Al Saati, Deputy Director, King Faisal University in Dammam, accompanied by faculty staff inaugurated the event held on Sunday 12 February through Friday 17 February 2006.
